The role of the oil pressure sensor
The oil pressure sensor is used by you to detect the oil pressure and issue an alarm when the pressure is not enough, and the oil light on the instrument panel will light up. If there is no sensor, when the oil shortage and other problems occur, the engine will fail. The damage is reversed, so the oil pressure sensor plays a vital role.
So how can you tell if the oil pressure sensor is bad?
If there is no pressure indication on the oil pressure gauge when the engine is in each speed state, it means that the oil pressure sensor is damaged or the engine lubrication system is faulty.
If the engine has not started after the ignition switch is turned on, and the pointer of the oil pressure gauge has moved to the direction of the maximum pressure value, it means that the oil pressure gauge is grounded to the sensor wire, etc.; or the internal grounding of the oil pressure sensor.
If the oil pressure indicator light does not go out after the engine is running, it means that the oil pressure sensor switch is damaged; or the lead of the alarm indicator light to the sensor switch is grounded.
If it is short-circuited, it shows normal, indicating that your sensor is a normally open switch output. The switch value has only two states of on and off. If there is oil in the chassis but the sensor still has no output, it means that the sensor is broken.
Check if your sensor is two-wire. If so, you can connect a small light bulb (5-24V) in series to see if the light bulb can light up. If it does not light up, the sensor is broken (in the case of oil). If the sensor is broken, it is natural to replace it, and the workload is still very small.
